The Original Bramante Staircase – which isn’t really a staircase at all! Built in 1505, it was designed to allow Pope Julius II to arrive at his private penthouse residence without getting out of his carriage.

The Sistine Chapel. This photo is a bit blurry as it was literally “shot from the hip” as photography was strictly forbidden. It’s a wonder I didn’t get condemned to Hell right then and there. Michelangelo was a genius!
