I knew that I would need a little down time after the first 3 weeks in Italy so I booked 4 nights at this tiny and quaint B & B located in Nocelle. It is perched at the edge of a cliff, high above the town of Positano. Casa Cuccaro was highly recommended by friends, Sue and Bruce, who had been here last year. It is located at the beginning of the famous hiking trail “Sentiero Degli Dei” (in English – “The Path of the Gods).

When I booked this place last year I fully intended on hiking this trail from beginning to end. The first day I hiked about a kilometer and realized my physical stamina, sore knees and blistering feet had other ideas. I ended up taking the next 3 days very easy and enjoyed the views, the bus ride into Positano and even the warm waters of the ocean below.

I wanted to explore this path . . .
. . . still on the waterfront path out of Positano
… and finally … the path led to a small and quiet beach cove – away from the busy city centre of Positano.

A magical view from Nocelle
Another magical view – 5 minutes later – at sunset
I decided I needed help with my luggage – up 150 steps and 500 meters – so I hired a donkey!
Goodbye Nocelle – had a great time – and got some rest!
